Dr. Desai has over 30 years of executive/senior management experience in 15 different industries, including 14 years with GE (1976-1989). From 1982 to 1989, during the era of one of the biggest corporate transformations in history under Jack Welch and his team, Jay led the planning and execution of business transformation, strategy, innovation and productivity efforts throughout GE (Appliances, Medical, Aircraft Engines, Defense, Power, Plastics and Financial Services) with significant revenue, profitability and market value impact.

Jay also taught executive programs on strategy, business transformation, innovation, product development, and leadership at GE’s Crotonville Management Institute from 1984 to 1989. He has taught executive programs at MIT, Stern, and Kenan-Flagler and been invited to teach executive programs Global 100 companies as well as at Kellogg, Wharton, Stanford, Chicago, INSEAD, India School of Business and Duke Corporate Education. |
Jay has four engineering and science degrees, including a PhD and an executive MBA. Dr. Desai worked on “US and Global Competitiveness” task force under President Reagan, and accompanied President Clinton to India in 2000 as a part of a prestigious business delegation. He is on expert panel for selection of best companies for the Chief Executive magazine and played a leading role in many professional organizations like, Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), PDMA, and US India Business Council. His other accomplishments include founder of the Pan-IIT organization (prestigious group of Indian Institute Technology profiled in CBS program 60 minutes, as one of the best global educational organizations) and co-founder of TiE (one of the largest entrepreneur organization in the world) Carolinas . Dr. Desai's many patents and innovations have had a profound impact on US Defense as well as many commercial businesses.
